Regarding Trains

    Can Limited Express trains be boarded with only a ticket?

    They can be boarded with only a ticket. Please be aware that riding the sixth car (Premium Car) of certain Limited Express trains and Liner trains requires the purchase of a separate reserved seat ticket. Please check this page for more details. (Click here for details)

Regarding the Sightseeing Pass

    Does the 2-day Sightseeing Pass need to be used for two days consecutively?

    It can be used on nonconsecutive days.

    Are there any conditions when purchasing the Sightseeing Pass?

    Purchase is limited to those with documents (passport/visa) showing that they have the Temporary Visitor status of residence for Japan.
    Unfortunately, those with student or work-related visas cannot purchase the tickets.

    While the passes are fundamentally Adult only, the Kyoto-Osaka Sightseeing Pass (for Hirakata Park) has child passes.

Regarding Buses

    It is possible, however, large luggage may be denied to maintain a balance with other customers.

    Is it possible to check luggage if taking the Direct Express Kyoto bus (Kyoto - Namba, Kyoto - USJ)?

    A normal amount of luggage can be stored in the trunk, however, as this line is used by many people, large luggage may be denied to maintain a balance with other customers.

    How do I reserve/purchase tickets for sightseeing buses?

    In addition to reserving them from here (Click here for details), they can be reserved at travel agencies or purchased the day of at the bus stop.

    How do I reserve/purchase tickets for the Direct Express Kyoto bus (Kyoto - Namba, Kyoto - USJ)?

    Reservations in advance are only available for customers getting on and off at Universal Studios Japan and Hotel Keihan Universal Tower. Please call 075-661-8200 (9:00 - 19:00) for reservations. (The reservation center has multilingual support available.)
